The Blues Caught Me
$10.00

Born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Chris Maus has been scaling upwards as a singer/songwriter ever since the age of 9. Focused on guitar as well as keyboards, Chris has been influenced by the works of Jim Croce, James Taylor, The Kinks and Bonnie Raitt (to name a few.) It is here that he obtained his “Folkie, Bluesie, Rock and Roll” style of performing.

Chris has paid his dues performing at high school variety shows, churches, hundreds of open mic venues, and later as a busker in Minneapolis and Chicago. He has been supported around the country, exhibiting his talents in cities such as Denver, Boston, Los Angeles and Austin.

He lived in Chicago from 1997 to 2003 where audiences cheered him on at venues such as Schuba’s, Emmit’s, Abbey Pub, Thurston’s, Hopcats, and The Big Horse. Chris also worked as a composer and performer in shows produced by Corn Productions.

Chris established Squeaky Studio in 2000 to record himself and several of his friends. The first release was Brad Norman’s Smuggling Raisins. He has produced several demos as well as manufactured the first release from “Your Little Ponies”. Recent projects to come from Squeaky Studio are Jason Braun’s Stormy Sea and The Turkies Dunn’s Twice Over Live. He has an extensive collection of live recordings from Tainted Chicken, which is a monthly concert he organized for Corn Productions at the Cornservatory.

Chris purchased 5 acres in Taylor County, Wisconsin in 2001 where he built a small cabin / recording studio where he continues to record.
